Arsenal – Everton

Arsenal Everton Wenger Top 4 2017 Premier League

Arsenal will host Everton in a final attempt to end another season in the Top 4, while the Tofees are sure to finish 7th and have nothing left to fight for.

Arsenal is currently 5th in the standings and need to win this game if they are to reach Top 4, but they also need Liverpool not to win against Middlesbrough. An evem more difficult possibility is Arsenal winning by 4+ goals against Everton and Manchester City losing at Watford. Neither of these scenarios seems very likely, but Arsenal will try to do their part and win the game. They look good value to do it, as the team is in good form, winning 4 matches in a row.

Everton will end the season on the 7th place and they know they will play Europa League football next season for some time now – so that might be the reason for their average recent performances. The Toffees claimed just 4 points in the last 4 rounds and scored a single goal in the proccess – which came last week in a 1-0 victory over Watford.

Team news & lineups:

Arsenal will probably miss Oxlade Chamberlain along with the long term injury of Cazorla, while Ramsey and Koscielny are doubtful. Everton won`t be able to count on Funes Mori, Bolasie, Coleman and Lennon. McCarthy and Stekelenburg are questionable.

Arsenal: Cech – Holding, Koscielny, Mustafi – Bellerin, Ramsey, Xhaka, Monreal – Sanchez, Ozil – Giroud

Everton: Robles – Holgate, Jakielka, Williams, Baines – Gueye, Schneiderlin, Davies – Barkley, Mirallas – Lukaku

Arsenal has played very well since mid April and they won each of their last 4 matches by 2 or more goals. Good health and Wenger’s tactical shift to 3-4-3 are probably the main reasons for Arsenal’s strong finish to the season.

The Gunners will be desperate to maintain the same level both due to the possibility of qualifying for the Champions League, and because they want to enter the FA Cup final against Chelsea with good morale.

Everton is playing rather poorly lately, they definitely don`t have the same energy as they had for most of the season, and their offense seems completely lost. It`s hard to expect them suddenly regaining their rhythm in the last game of the season, with nothing left to fight for, and knowing that a positive result would actually help their arch rivals, Liverpool.

I believe Arsenal has what it takes to do the job here. Looking at their recent results and at Everton’s poor form, chances are the Gunners will be able to cover a 1 goal handicap.

All things taken into account, my tip here is Arsenal to cover the 1 goal asian handicap, as I want a safety net in case of a 1 goal win. Honestly I was hoping for odds of at least 1.60 on this bet, but maybe that was an unrealistic expectation. Still, I will deduct 1 unit from the 10 I was planning to invest. Prediction: Arsenal – Everton 2-0.

Pick: Arsenal (-1 Asian Handicap)
Odds: 1.57 @ 18Bet
Stake: 9
Possible profit: 5.13
