Bournemouth – Liverpool

Bournemouth Liverpool betting previewLet’s start with the hosts of this game, Bournemouth. They are leaders of the Championship, England’s second division. They have a 37 year old coach, Eddie Howe who is considered a great coach in the making. Bournemouth’s squad is considered to be average, the difference in results is all thanks to the coach.

Team news for Bournemouth are really good, they have no major injuries for this game. The 2 teams met this year in January and Liverpool won 2-0 in the FA Cup. Former Liverpool legend and Bournemouth midfielder Jimmy Case said that if Bournemouth play like they did in January they will win today.

Liverpool are a complete mess. There are many things going badly with the club. First of all the transfers, they have a sort of mixed committee formed by a board and Brendan Rodgers. It’s easy to say that the best transfers have not been made and now no one is able to take responsibility for this. Some players that Rodgers wanted have not been bought, others that Rodgers did not want are kept on the bench and first 11 at Liverpool is constantly changing. After losing 3-0 to arch rivals United they will face Arsenal in the weekend. I expect the Reds to rotate heavily today because this competition is not so important while the Premier League is crucial, especially since their participation in the Champions League next year is the biggest financial reward possible.

The problem is that Brendan Rodgers is such a bad coach that the players from the bench might actually be better than the ones he has used so far. If we see Lucas Leiva, Borini, Emre Can, Markovic and Sakho in the first 11 we might see a better Liverpool squad than the one we are used to. I personally expect Coutinho, Sterling, Lallana, Moreno and Glen Johnson to be rested. About the rest i am not so sure. I think up front we will see Borini, in midfield Lucas Leiva and Emre Can and the full backs will be Manquillo and Jose Enrique. Anyway, it’s possible that the players (some of them) do not like Rodgers and do not give their best hoping he gets sacked as soon as possible. Honestly, it would not be the first time this has happened to a top football club.

My bet on this League Cup game is Bournemouth +0.5 handicap and I am staking my classic 8 units flat stake on odds of 1.85 at Bet365.

Pick: Bournemouth +0,5 handicap
Odds: 1.85 @ Bet365
