Dinamo Bucharest will try to avoid falling into a crisis as they face Romanian Liga 1 newcomers and relegation candidates Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe.
Dinamo has a good team this season, arguably their best in the last 5-6 years, and they are considered definite title contenders. The Red Dogs started the season well and played good football even when results didn`t go their way, but now they are in danger of falling into a crisis after losing the previous two games. Dinamo has 3 wins and 3 losses in the first 6 rounds. Two of those losses were unlucky, but last round Dinamo was completely outplayed by a poor CSMS Iasi team, losing 2-1 via a late goal – but they were actually fortunate not to get humiliated.
Sepsi was considered by many to be the weakest team in the Liga 1 at the start of this season, and indeed they might be, in terms of the players they have at their disposal. Still, despite not being impressive, Sepsi managed to gain 6 points in the first 6 rounds by winning two games at home – which is not a bad return for them. They have lost their last two matches though, and were completely outplayed last round at home by CFR Cluj.

Dinamo will miss Nedelcearu, Salomao, Nascimento, and probably Nemec as well. All of them are key players. The Red Dogs also sacked bench players Busuladzic and Albin last week. Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe has a full squad available.

Dinamo played horribly in the last round at Iasi, which was a bit of a shock considering that the Red Dogs were pretty solid in all their matches this season, win or lose.
Coming after a poor performance and after two consecutive losses, Dinamo has no choice but to win this game, or they might kiss the title goodbye after only 7 rounds. Missing 4 key players will definitely be a blow but, fortunately for Dinamo, they meet an accessible opponent who clearly lacks quality for this level.
Sepsi hasn`t showed much this season. They won against relegation rivals Juventus and against a totally out of form Viitorul team, losing all the other matches, most of them convincingly, and haven`t gained a point away from home. You would not expect this Sepsi team to resist against the top teams in the league, particularly on the road.
Sepsi will surely try to park the bus in this match, but their defense hasn`t been that good so far, and Dinamo has a capable offensive line which should be able to break down the crowded defense of the visitors.
I will stick with Dinamo here despite losing 2 bets on them in the last two rounds. They are a good team and desperately need a win, but most of all this is about Sepsi’s lack of quality.
The absences which Dinamo has are pretty much the only reason for concern, but the substitutes are not far off in terms of quality and should still have too much for Sepsi. The real impact will be on Dinamo’s bench, which will be very weak. It`s definitely not an ideal situation for the hosts, but that`s why we get odds 1.30 for Dinamo to win instead of something like 1.20.
