Dynamo Kiev – Steaua

Dynamo Kiev and Steaua Bucharest meet in what is likely to be a match counting for the second place in the weakest group of the Europa League, as Aalborg and Rio Ave have absolutely no business playing at this level. Both sides got convincing wins in the first round.

Dynamo had an easy time away at Rio Ave two weeks ago, winning 3-0 and backing up a good start to the season. The hosts are undefeated aside for a 2-0 loss to Shakhtar in the Ukrainian Supercup and are on the back of 3 consecutive wins. Dynamo might not have the same strength it used to have 1-2 decades ago, but the Kiev side is still a side to be reckoned with and is in good form this season, posting some great offensive potential.

Looking at Steaua`s results this season you will be left impressed, a lot of wins for the Romanian side and their recent record is great – 5 wins and 1 draw in the last 6 matches. However, anyone who watched Steaua`s matches will say that the visitors have caught an incredible span of luck in the last few weeks – Steaua has played rather poorly, escaping with some dubious wins and to top it off they won 6-0 against Aalborg in the first Europa League round, a game which I can say with all responsibility that they deserved to lose – even if I tipped Steaua to win back then! I was actually believing Steaua had the best side in Romania (which does not say much), but their latest performances were awful and I`m seriously doubting they have the strength to even win the Romanian league.

Steaua is not impressing anyone this season, they were lucky to get a 0-0 draw with an out of form Astra team in Romania over the weekend and are really due to suffer a loss after some very misleading results recently. They played three away European Matches this season and all were very poor. Dynamo Kiev seems like a proper team to hand the Romanians a beating, the hosts are a good, organized side, with clearly superior talent and, while they might not be world beaters, they should be able to virtually secure the first place in this weak group today with a solid handicap win.

The Ukrainians have scored at will lately so my tip is Dynamo Kiev to win with -1,25 asian handicap. Bet of the day for me, the odds are just great, should be at least 15% lower and we might be in for a fantastic return of investment at great value. Prediction: Dynamo Kiev – Steaua Bucharest 3-0.
