Fulham – Chelsea

Fulham Chelsea betting preview

Fulham will take on Chelsea at Craven Cottage in the 29th round of the Premier League.

Fulham parted ways with manager Claudio Ranieri on Thursday, after an abysmal run of results in 2019. Fulham lost 7 out of their last 8 Premier League matches (8 out of 9 in all competitions), and is now 19th in the table, 10 points behind the safety line. In the last four games Fulham scored a single time and lost by two or more goals each time. Scott Parker has been appointed as caretaker manager for this clash.

Chelsea is currently 6th in the standings, 5 points behind 4th placed Manchester United, but the Blues have two games in hand – so they are in pretty good position. Chelsea is coming after a solid 2-0 win over Tottenham midweek, a great bounce back victory after losing the League Cup against Man City via penalties last weekend. Chelsea is in pretty good form overall, but their last three away games in the Premier League have been a total disaster: 0-2 vs Arsenal, 0-4 vs Bournemouth and 0-6 vs Manchester City.

Team news & lineups:

Fulham will miss Mawson, Bettinelli and possibly Schurrle. Chelsea has a full squad available, but there`s a possibility Hazard will start from the bench in order to get some extra rest. Kepa is expected to return in goal after being left out midweek.

Fulham: Rico – Nordtveit, Ream, Marchand – Christie, Seri, Chambers, Anguissa, Bryan – Babel – Mitrovic

Chelsea: Kepa – Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Luiz, Emerson – Jorginho, Kante, Barkley – Willian, Higuain, Hazard (Pedro)

Chelsea`s road results have been disastrous lately in the Premier League, but clearly that will not last, and this is the perfect opportunity for the Blues to fix their road woes. Not only do they meet arguably the worst team in the league at the moment, but it`s also not much of an away game, since they are playing a fellow London club.

Chelsea will surely be extra careful and focused after what happened in their last three matches as visitors, so the recent poor results away from home might actually work in their favor here – in the sense that there will be no room for complacency.

Aside from those last three away games in the Premier League, Chelsea has played pretty well lately, and they have every reason to be confident of securing a win at Craven Cottage.

Fulham has just been abysmal this year, and it`s just hard to see them upsetting a top club anytime soon. Sure, sacking the manager can sometimes have an unexpected impact (positive or negative), but it would really take a massive improvement for them to challenge Chelsea the way they have been playing recently.

Chelsea should not lose crucial points here against this Fulham mob. My tip will be Chelsea to win but if odds are too low for you, there`s always the -1 asian handicap as a good option. Personally I wouldn`t be happy at all with a void bet here, so I`m backing the straight win. Pretty simple pick, but I`m optimistic about the result. Prediction: Fulham – Chelsea 0-2.
