Bucks – Trailblazers

Bucks Blazers handicapping

The Milwaukee Bucks will host the Portland Trailblazers on Wednesday night in the NBA.

The Bucks (12-4, 8-1 home) have been excellent this season, with Giannis Antetokounmpo playing like an MVP and with a new and improved coaching staff and supporting cast to help the Greek Freak. The Bucks last played on Monday, claiming a solid 6 point win at home against a very strong Denver side – their second win in a row.

The Blazers (12-5, 5-3 away) were always going to be a good regular season team, but right now they are actually leading the Western Conference standings – something few expected even at this early point of the season. Still, the team is the same as in the last years, and is playing the same way, so they are likely heading for another first round exit in the playoffs. The Blazers are on the back of a hard fought win against the Knicks last night.

Team news: The Bucks will miss Henson, DiVincenzo, Duval, Wilson and Meeks. Only the first two are important rotation pieces, bot both are out for some games now. The Blazers will probably miss Curry and Harkless yet again.

The Blazers are doing well this season and they have won two games in a row, while also beating the Bucks by 15 points in Portland two weeks ago. But they are currently navigating a very difficult run of games.

This will be the 5th consecutive game on the road for the Blazers, and their third game in 4 nights on the Eastern Coast. That is a brutal run on the legs, especially as the Blazers played last night as well, and were involved in a very close game.

Portland fought with the Knicks until the last seconds last night, with McCollum playing 38 minutes and Lillard 36. It will be togh to ask these two to have another big night, and if they don`t, Portland is doomed – as they rely a whole lot on their two stars.

The Bucks are really clicking this season and would be heavily favored at home against the Blazers anyway, but when you add Portland’s potential fatigue, you would really expect the Bucks to win this rather handily.

My tip will be Milwaukee to cover the 6.5 point handicap. If the game will start slipping away from the Blazers, they might decide to rest the starters early in the 4th and not push too much to try a comeback. Odds on the bet are going down and the line will likely continue to move towards 7.5 points. Prediction: Milwaukee Bucks – Portland Trailblazers 120 – 106.
