Sevilla – Valencia

Sevilla Valencia betting previewSpanish semifinal in the Europa League, Sevilla hosts Valencia on 24 April at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Sevilla put on a show in the quarterfinals coming back from a 1-0 deficit to rout a strong Porto team 4-1 at home (who would have picked that correct score?). It was a spectacular win, unexpected but explainable considering the form Sevilla is in in the last 2 months. Since late february, Sevilla won 12 of their 15 games. In the last 4 games Sevilla won each time, scoring 14 (!!!) goals and allowing only 2! The hosts defeated Granada 4-0 in their last match on Sunday. Team news for Sevilla say that Cristoforo and Coke are out. Perotti and Cheryshev are question marks.

Sevilla lineup: Varas – Figueiras, Fazio, Pareja, Moreno – Mbia, Iborra – Reyes, Rakitic, Vitolo – Bacca

Valencia made one of the most amazing turnarounds in European competitions history, winning 5-0 in extra time vs. Basel after losing 3-0 in Switzerland. However Valencia did not back up that performance in the league and they are in poor form. Valencia won only 2 of the last 7 games and in the last match they were held to a 1-1 draw by Osasuna. The visitors are 8th in Primera with no prospect whatsoever. Team news for Valencia say that Alves and Costa are out and Mathieu is highly doubtful.

Valencia lineup: Guaita – Pereira, Senderos, Ruiz, Bernat – Keita, Parejo – Feghouli, Jonas, Fede – Alcacer

In the league this season it was 3-1 for Valencia at home in September and 0-0 at Sevilla in February, but now the two teams are in totally different form and the circumstances are different as well.

It’s hard to look past Sevilla in this one. The home team is in devastating form and scoring seemingly for fun at the moment. Not only did they dismantle Porto, but also beat Real Madrid since their fantastic run began. Valencia’s only highlight of the season was the 5-0 win against Basel but the swiss were decimated by injuries and had men sent off, so that win looks more and more like a circumstantial accident. There is a big difference in the football the two sides are playing right now and especially at home Sevilla should take care of business. My tip will be Sevilla to win and I am very confident in this bet. Correct score prediction: Sevilla – Valencia 2-0. Odds are dropping fast on the home win.
