Tottenham – Chelsea

Mourinho Chelsea Tottenham Premier League

Tottenham will host Chelsea in the first game in the last 5 years when they are favorites over the Blues, but just slightly.

Tottenham looks better this season. The reasons are pretty simple. The young players they had, have matured. I am speaking about Lamela, Kane, Eriksen. They put in more consistent performances. Another reasons is the power of the Belgian back CB’s, Verthongen and Alderweild. Although not the regulars starters for their country (Kompany is irreplaceable) they form a strong partnership at Spurs. Moussa Dembele has also performed very well. He is a player I have followed since he was at Fulham. I consider him brilliant for this level. He just might be Spurs’s best player at the moment. He would definitely fit in at Chelsea, City or United, anytime.

Chelsea seem to have moved past the crisis. After the last international break, they have won against Norwich 1-0 in the Premier League and against Maccabi Tel Aviv 4-0, away. Not impressive results, but what you must look for is the individual performances. Hazard has started to play again, his link up play has been good, his dribbles, runs, layoffs seem to remind us of his old self. For those of you who have not noticed, Hazard’s and Costa’s incredibly poor form has been the main reason for Chelsea playing so poor. That and the weak form of Terry, I must say.

Let’s see what each team has going for them:

Spurs:
– good form
– good matches against some good teams, 1-1 at Arsenal, 4-1 vs City, 4-1 vs West Ham
– home advantage

What Spurs miss is experience and a leader. I think they look many times like a headless chicken, but the individual quality helps them against lesser opponents … and some luck helped them vs City.

Chelsea:
– better quality in 70% of the positions
– better coach, more versatile than Pocchettino, who never changes anything, no matter if they play Real or Qarabag..
– they are living a small revival

I will go with a Chelsea win via a +0 asian handicap in this derby encounter and I will stake my usual 8 units flat stake on the bet.

Pick: Chelsea (+0 Asian Handicap)
Odds: 2.07 @ 1xBet
Stake: 8
Possible profit: 8.56
Event date: 29 November

  1. I think a bet on number of goals is proper, too!
As you say, Tottenham is in a good run, Chelsea tries to get out from a terrific period.
There are conditions for many goals.
    Good luck!
