Napoli has a great start to this season not only have they been able to win all 5 games played by them in this start of the season but they did so winning by 2 goals difference or more in all those fixtures. In the play-offs for the Champions League group stage they defeated French side Nice twice with 2-0 both at home and away from home, and Nice for example just beat Monaco with 4-0 at home in Ligue 1 in France last week, so it was not an easy tie for Napoli on paper but there were two easy games for them in the end and they made it to the group stage.
Also after 6 years in a row when Juventus was considered the main favorite for winning the title in Italy, this season the newspapers in Italy rate Napoli with the first chance for winning the title, and they have not dissapointed in their opening 3 games played in the league so far winning all 3 of those games as they defeated Bologna with 3-0 away from home last round, they also defeated Atalanta with 3-1 at home and in the opening round they defeated Verona also by 2 goals difference 3-1 away from home.
Shakhtar is of course not a bad team, just that last season they had to go through the qualifying rounds in the Champions League to qualify for the group stage and they failed in the first round against Young Boys from Switzerland, not the toughest opponent, but the departure of long time coach Mircea Lucescu made this team a bit weaker in European competitions and they also did not make it too far in the Europa League last season only making it past the group stage there.
In the league this season Shakthar was defeated with 1-0 at home by Dynamo Kiev, team which Napoli defeated with 2-1 away from home last season in the Champions League group stage. Napoli is very strong, excellent form, better players than the Ukraineans, they dominate games and scored 2 or 3 goals in their opening 5 games of the season while really only conceding just 2 goals total, and won all those 5 games by 2 goals difference or even 3 goals, so my bet here is going to be on the Italians to be winning this game here by 2 goals difference as well.
