Crystal Palace impressed with a really good defense against Arsenal. The London team only could score from a free kick (header from Kosquielny) and a late goal from Ramsey (lucky IMO because the goalkeeper of Crystal must have that class not making such BIG mistakes). It looked like Crystal wanted to hold their own goal clean and Arsenal struggled a lot to score against this team. Last 2 preseason matches of Crystal were against Augsburg (0-0) and Brentford (3-2). Result against that championship team looks like Crystals defense isn't that good as I trying to explain but I can't believe that West Ham score such goals like Brentford did. They shot goals in "Messi-style" going through the defense with good dribbling skills. I can't believe that West Ham is that good to score such goals. On the other side it is to say that their goals were a bit lucky. 1 mistake from the goalkeeper and one mistake from a defender. Furthermore the goal against Arsenal was from a corner (header). Last 2 meetings against West Ham ended 1-0 to them. Last time Crystal shot that one goal from a penalty. Summing it up, Crystal Palace impressed with good defensive work and it seems that their main target in their games is to keep a clean sheet.
West Ham:
They played against Tottenham on the first day of the season. They lost 1-0 conceding that goal in the last minutes of the match from their city-rivals. It is to say that this was a real derby, 100% from each team, many chances on both sides, 2 red cars (one each team), one penalty missed from West Ham, ... All in all a really hot match. But that don't mean that this is good. Both teams had problems in the defense and problems in shooting some goals. Both sides played like Belgium in the world club, creating some good chances but bad in their efficiency. And as already mentioned, West Ham don't have that player who can dribble trough the good defensive of Crystal. Their last away match was against Malaga (friendly) and they lost it 2-0.
I think Crystal Palace is going with a little advantage into this match playing on home ground. Their defense is good and West Ham will have some problems to score here. If they score (their couldn't score a goal in their last 3 matches against them) then it will be from a corner, a header or a lucky goal, I am sure. Under 2,5 goals would be a very good bet too but odds around 1.60 are just too low. DNB Crystal for 1.80 is also good but I go a bit more risky and take -0,25AH Crystal. Good Luck.
