Aston Villa - Arsenal

After Manchester City and Chelsea have already won in this weekend, Arsenal has dropped on the third place. Only the win and the 3 points would let them overtake City and Chelsea and put the Gunners in the first place of Premier League at the end of the day.

Aston Villa it is 11th place which is not bad for them since it is keeping them away from the relegation zone for now. Even though Aston Villa is 11th in the table, their home record it is the second worst, after Sunderland, with only 2 wins and a total of 8 points. Even worse for them is that they have not won for 4 games on Villa Park (2 draws and 2 losses) and only scored 1 goal in this 4 games. Another bad point for them at home is that they lost 1-2 against Sheffield United(a Championship team) in F.A. Cup and have been eliminated by them. Aston Villa has scored only 4 goals in their last 7 games in all competitions and conceded 11.

If Villa is one of the worst teams at home in PL, on the other side we have Arsenal, which is the best team, next to Tottenham, on the road with 22 points so far. On the road , the Gunners, have lost only to City and United which is not such a tragedy (even though they have lost 6-3 against City), have made a draw and won 7 games. Also they have scored 21 goals and conceded only 12. Arsenal comes after 3 wins in a row in Premier League (2 of them on the road) and are full of confidence and motivation right now. Another plus for them today might be the come back of one of their key players, maybe even the most important one, Mesut Ozil, after he missed last games due to an injury. Speaking about motivation, let’s not forget that Arsenal has lost their first game of PL this season , on Emirates, against Aston Villa so the players and the fans are hoping for a revenge. In the end I would like to say that Arsenal are undefeated in 27 of their last 30 matches in the Premier League.

Thinking that Arsenal is hoping for the title after many years, and it seems that they have a real chance, I don’t think that they will lose any points in tonight’s game. Since that they are the best team on away games in the first English league and since they meet one of the worst teams on home ground, makes me think that the Gunners will win with no big problems. The fantasy that we saw in Arsenal’s game this season should also be back with Ozil’s comeback and I expect the Gunners to win with some style.
