The Utah Jazz will attempt to retake homecourt advantage when they travel to Memphis tonight with the series tied 1-1.
The Grizzlies managed to upset Utah in Game 1 on the road and took a 1-0 lead, but the first seeded Jazz recovered well with a convincing Game 2 victory on Wednesday.
I reckon the Jazz will go up 2-1 tonight, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if they end up winning three in a row to wrap up a gentleman’s sweep. There’s no question about who the better team is here.
Memphis is feisty and their Game 1 win was remarkable, but it has to be said they were entering that game in rhythm, having won the play in tournament, while the Jazz were a bit rusty – shooting abysmal from three point range. They are a fantastic three point shooting team, so it was clear that 12/47 won’t happen again. And on top of it all, the Jazz were missing their main man Donovan Mitchell.
With Mitchell back, the Jazz played to their potential in Game 2 and won by 12 despite Ja Morant’s career night for the Grizzlies. If Memphis lost with Morant scoring 47 points, it’s hard to see what more they could do in this matchup.
The grit and determination of this young Memphis team earned them Game 1, but I reckon that was it. Utah should win tonight and take control of the series.
There are no notable injuries for either side. Straightforward bet for me here, simple Jazz win with 9/10 stakes. Prediction: Memphis Grizzlies – Utah Jazz 108 – 118.
