After Torontos loss in Boston last night, the Tigers are now just a half game back in the AL Wild Card race. They are tied in the loss column with Toronto, who have two games remaining against the Red Sox. This is huge, because it means the Tigers can now control their own playoff destiny. If they win their next three games (including a potential Monday afternoon tilt with the Cleveland Indians), the worst the Tigers can do is force a tiebreaker in Toronto on Tuesday.

But Tigers will start Jordan Zimmermann who has been horrible since return from injury. Zimmermann has an 8.41 ERA in 40 2?3 innings pitched since the start of June. He has just 24 strikeouts during that stretch, and has allowed opponents to hit .341/.382/.641. There is no guarantee that Saturday will be different.
Well, lets just mention that The Braves have been one of the most prolific offenses in the National League since the All-Star break. Theyre second in batting average and drawing walks (fourth). Braves average 6 runs per game since All-Star break so its well documented, Tigers need to score ton of runs to have a chance to win this game.
Good news? Tigers bats are fully healthy and when all key hitters are in line-up, offense looks unstoppable. Over past 5 games (well, they had 5 innings game against Indians) offense earned 37 runs (in 43 innings).
Better news?
The Braves will start Aaron Blair (1-7, 8.02 ERA). He struggked even in Triple-A Gwinnett this season posting 4.65 ERA in 13 starts. His ERA in major this season is 8.02. His strikeout, walk, and home run rates have all been brutal, resulting in him rating nearly a full win below replacement level according to FanGraphs (Baseball Reference has him at a whopping -1.7 WAR).
As I noted earlier, Tigers probably will need ton of runs to be able to win this game (they are desperate to win it) so 5 runs line seems quite playable.
