Furman Paladins will host Elon Phoenix tonight in their Timmons Arena and will be 4.5-point favorites with total sitting at 149 points. This is third game of the season for Elon and they will be looking for their first road win (1-1 overall record), while Furman is 1-0.
This line makes no sense at all. This is basically respect for previous seasons of Furman team that used to be very tough at home. They have won 10 of their last 12 home games, while Elon lost 7 of their last 10 road games. But, that's old news.
Furman beat school that pretty much nobody heard of in their season opener and have Devin Sibley, but apart from that, Elon is clearly the better and more balanced team. They have Thompson and Dawkins in frontcourt and Eberhardt, Swoope and Seibring in backcourt and of those 5 players, at least 4 will average double digit points this season.
They are experienced basketball team that already played Duke this season so there's no way they'll be shook ot anything against Furman. They will look to slow down a pace and play controlled half court game and if they manage to do so, I expect pretty comfortable victory for the visitors.
