First round of Group E in Shanghai and it's pretty much main event for both teams, since it's basically game over for loser, considering the fact that the USA is in their group.
On paper, Turkey looks really good. Few veterans (Ilyasova, Erden, Mahmutoglu) and couple of young stars (Osman, Korkmaz) along with Wilbekin should be nice mix of youth and experience. But, they are not playing good. Team chemistry looks bad and they sucked in friendlies.
On the other hand, we have Japan as lowest ranked team on this championship, but they are certainly team on the rise. It's pretty simple; entire game plan revolves around Rui Hachimura with help from Watanabe and few veterans on team. Hachimura is freak of the nature and absolutely dominant player, who will for sure try to push up the pace in fast breaks. I'm not sure anyone on Turkey's side can stop him, and it's quite possible we see closer game than expected.
