Once again, Auxerre disappointed their fans, having another extremely poor season so far. Despite bringing at the squad a coach who promoted with Brest last season, Furlan, the team played many time a poor football being unable to collect points versus teams with poor squad. They have finished 2019 with a series of 9 games without a win, losing 4 times at nil in this gap. They have potential, no doubt, see the results versus teams from the upper part of the table, but so far, they had more problems versus bottom placed squads. A positive start for 2020 as they won on the road in previous round at LeMans 1-0. Ngando was recovered and back in squad.
After unsuccessful partnership with Alaves from last season, Sochaux started the season bringing in a lot of new faces and I expect them to face different problems at the beginning of 2019/2020. But coach Daf made some miracles and built quite rapid a tough team to break so Sochaux was for most first third of the season up in table, giving a lot of hopes to their fans for a promotion battle. But they finished 2019 in knees taking only 2 points in last 5 games, losing in last round even in front of rock bottom Orleans (a team without a home win till that game) – maybe the most unexpected result during first 19 games. The start of 2020 was in the same manner as they finished 2019 – only a point in their first home game versus lower Paris FC 1-1, with an equalizer in last minutes of game. They will be without important mid. Kaabouni which is out for the rest of the season, important def Pendant also injured plus young Sitti. Due to the Prevot injury over the winter break and leaving of 2nd GK Zigi, they signed with GK Jeannin ex-Clermont. But for this game they have recovered Prevot.
