Caen - AC Ajaccio
Caen had also a difficult start of the season losing a lot of players after relegation in Ligue 2. They were forced to change the coach after few rounds and they did well as under new coach Pascal Dupraz they had a better evolution. They escape from the relegation area for the moment but still not so far of those spots. Few players left the team but no new ones. The year was started with a defeat 1-2 at Lorient into a difficult trip. Don’t see them to be involved in the promotion battle so perhaps a mid-lower position at the end of the season is expected. For this game Vandermersch and J.Pi are suspended, while Zady Sery (who came from AC Ajaccio) isn’t in the squad.
Losing last 2 games in 2019, versus two teams from top3, AC Ajaccio lost somehow the contact with first 2 places who assure a direct promotion but still remains in the top 5 battles for a play-off. Is a remarkable first part of the season for a team who last year finished just above the red line. With few new players, coach Pantaloni built a competitive team who is playing a not spectacular game but a result one. They were much better on the road so far having many problems at home due also to a difficult pitch problem. A pitch who seems to be more friendly with AC Ajaccio as they took a clear home win 3-1 in first round of the year versus tough Grenoble. Important def. Chpolin left the team for LeMans, while Cavalli is suspended.
Let’s not forget that AC Ajaccio was one of the best team on the road in the first part of the season. Both teams have some missing, but keeping in mind their evolution till this point I expect AC Ajaccio not to lose. Perhaps a draw but I like AC Ajaccio AH0+.gl
