Sergey Kovalev Vs Bernard Hopkins

The Krusher has hammered all opponents in his way so far but wily Bernard Hopkins will be by far his trickiest test yet.

Light heavyweight Kovalev is favourite with the bookies but this fight is truly fascinating because anything could happen. The things we know for sure about Kovalev are that he has incredible power and shot variation but he can be off balance and he has never done 12 rounds.

Hopkins has a great chin and is one of the most adaptable fighters in the game but he is 49 and he hasn't ko'd anyone for a decade.

The less certain things include Hopkins wanting a scrappy fight and he probably succeeding in getting it. Hopkins is a known 'accidental' headbutter and Kovalev can cut up. Kovalev was heavily dropped in sparring with a body shot, albeit from Gennady Golovkin.

I really believe any result is possible but the bet with most meat on the bone is for Kovalev to win by ko in the middle to late rounds - surely he stands little chance of stopping Hopkins early, and he has never been into the championship rounds.
