Newcastle vs West Ham

The burning question is: Can Newcastle bring their act together? The first reality check was a tough one to endure; a 4-0 thumping by Manchester City made worse by Taylor's red card when Newcastle's physio room looks more like a defenders get together. Nonetheless their teamsheet is still somewhat intriguing and whilst I was never a Pardew lover, the likes of Ben Arfa, Sissoko and Gouffran do give the idea that on their day, the Toon Army can damage their opponents.

Today they host one of the most improve sides in the Premier League. West Ham have consistently delivered solid performances and started with a convincing 2-0 win against newcomers Cardiff. Carroll is still missing but Downing has joined Cole, Nolan, Jarvis, Diarra and Noble to form a top notch midfield. There again, West Ham built their last season successful 10th place finish on an impressive home record and only managed a 3-4-12 WDL ratio on the road.

I don't believe there is much difference between these two sides and home advantage is a key factor. Newcastle have a point to prove and their 9 wins at home last season were as good as Liverpool at Anfield. On that basis I am going on a home win with medium-low level stakes.
