Ward has not got much success on clay this season as usual, he is not a clay player. But he is in the best moments of his career and this allows him to be more competitive than usual on clay. He beat McGee 6-1 1-6 6-0 in first round of qualifying, clearly showing he has some inconsistency on the surface, but decent win.
But after a good win vs McGee and knowing he can break Top 100 for the first time if he qualifies to main draw, Ward comes with confidence in this match.
And the caliber of opponent he meets, Ward should win. Odds are huge, no way he can get 1.60 vs a player like Lindell.
Lindell had one good tournament with final in Sao Paolo challenger this year but otherwise he did nothing. He is a player below Ward's caliber for sure, 200-300 zone (he's now ranked 200 but doesn't belong there). He beat Karatsev in a dramatic match in first round of qualies.
Ward wins this IMO, he will be also helped by the faster clay in Paris.
