I watched ATP Washington tournament this week and one of the matches I was most impressed with was Sock against Gasquet in the prev. round.
Jack Sock had some problems in the last few months, had some injuries, not the greatest form. But boy, did he play well against Gasquet. Showed what he is capable of. Incredible forehands, long and powerful, fantastic serve, amazing will power to come back from break down in second set. And Gasquet did not gift anything, played great, it was all Sock. You can see he is feeling well at home. I predict Sock to keep it going, he can go far in this tournament and Johnson will not be a match for him IMO. Fellow American Steve got himself a great result in the prev. round by beating Dimitrov, but the Bulgarian is off pace for a long time. Dimitrov did not play well and in the set in which he did, he ruined Johnson. It was 6-3 1-6 6-3.
I will not insist much further because I am writing a little late but I am fully on the Sock bandwagon. He played well all tournament, not only with Gasquet, he looks great. Johnson should be an easy scalp. Not afraid to bet high stakes on the Sock win.
