Philadelphia - Vancouver

I put this bet on my book in seconds after Philadelphia Chicago match (4-3) as Vancouver likes to attack the same areas as Chicago: Behind the fullbacks. But if Chicago had no midfield to speak of and could only threaten by going direct to the strikers, Vancouver has maestro Morales in roster and the team relies heavily on him to start counterattacks. And with speedy wingers Kekuta Manneh and Christian Bolanos (both players have four goals and two assists on the season and are difficult to control when they can isolate a defender) it will be even harder to defend than it was against Chicago. Morales (11/6, top-scorer) and Rivero (12/2) are back from suspensions to boost offense.

Union is scoring for fun as last time they failed to score in early April (12 matches ago). While in last 3 league games they netted 9 goals (12 in last 4 overall if we consider US Open Cup game). Alberg (3 goals in last game) finally adapted to MLS and looks great right now while Pontius (16/5), Le Toux (16/2) and Barnetta (13/2) is firing whole season. Sarpong (14/5) may miss out again (doubtful) but it wont be huge loss and Herbers looks good replacement (and who cares about striker with Alberg in fire?).

Now lets talk about defenses. As both are struggling there. In 2015, Vancouver allowed 1.05 goals per match.. This year, the Caps are sporting a 1.68 goals against average. Compounding the defensive issues on the wings, the Whitecaps have adjusted to Kendall Wastons absences in the back line (hes suspended for this) by keeping the right fullback overly narrow. This means the left wing is often a free zone where teams can establish attacks or easily get behind a defensive line.

While Union defensive woes are well-documented. When Chicago (11 goals in 13 games and 3 in 6 away games this season) scores 3 times against you its not good sign. Over last 5 league matches Union conceded 11 goals (if we consider Cup game it reads 13 in 6). They kept just 1 clean sheet in last 9 games and with Caps offense fully healthy and free from suspensions just cant see clean sheet happening here.

Both teams scored in Union last 5 league games (2-2, 1-1, 3-2, 3-2, 4-3)
Both teams scored in Vancouver last 8 league games

It should be another offensive blockbuster.
