Harlequins - Sale 🏉

Both Harlequins and Sale come into this game on Friday night with two wins in their first five matches of the season. Harlequins, however, have lost their last two matches but it should be noted that these were against Leicester and Northampton, wh are two sides that are better than Harlequins. Particularly Northampton who are currently top of the league. Despite that they still scored 28 points against Leicester at home and 22 points against Northampton away. In both matches they scored three tries which I think is a good effort against those teams.

Here they will be up against a sale side that doesn't quite pack the same punch as Leicester or Northampton. Harlequins two wins have come against Gloucester and Wasps who, as they league suggests, are around the same level as Sale and Harlequins. Sale's two wins have also come against opposition in the bottom half as they have also beaten Gloucester, as well as London Irish.

Sale do not travel well having won just one away match last season and that was against an awful Birstol side. They really struggle stopping teams scoring when they are playing away. Except for the Bristol game and the opening away game of last season against Newcastle they've cnceded at least 24 points in all of their other away matches since the start of last season. In fact, in their last 12 away matches they've conceded 30 or more points in eight of those matches, inclduing their two away matches this season which saw them concede 50 against Wasps and 41 against Saracens.

Harlequins will be looking forward to taking on a side that travels so poorly and they will be improving their team this week with the inlcusion England internationals, Joe Marler and Chris Robshaw. Sale will also like their chances here despite their poor away record. Harlequins have lost their last two, so confidence will not be sky high and Sale possess two quality finishers in Byron McGuigan and Denny Solomona who will likely cause Harlequins plenty of problems. They have 11 tris between them this season with McGuigan leading the league for tries with six.

Considering all of this I can see their being a high number of points in this game and in four of Harlequins five matches and three of Sale's five matches this season this tip would have won.
