Yesterday in my Maccabi analysis I also made small preview and my thinking about who could fall out and who could fall in those play off spots. Imo Milano and Bayern could easily fall out while I see Baskonia, Maccabi and maybe Pao come in. The reason is Milano bad tactics especially in game finish, only thinking about offense which is wild from time to time.
Baskonia is a solid team on both defensive and offensive ends. At home they had four top teams and managed to win only against CSKA, but under PerasoviΔ the record against top teams is 1-1...the loss against Barcelona was unexpected especially considering that they had 8 points lead in 3rd QT and in 4th they were lousy offensively. Barcelona stopped it's small 4 game crisis in that game.
Milano last two games against Barcelona and Bayern were really poor tactically, very poor in defense and coming with at least 10 points deficit into last QT in both games and slightly making those results look more acceptable until the end. Still they didn't managed to cover this kind of spread.
This kind of poor defense will be or should be punished in Baskonia which can easily reach 90 points in that kind of a game, on other hand Milano offense is also solid so I see them again around 80 points, I am not sure but I believe that Milano was under 80 points this season only at Zalgiris but should have been in Barcelona as well with last second layup, ending 90:80. Something tells me we could see somewhat similar result Milano had in Barcelona.
At my bookie handicap is -4.5 but I see this a 10 pt game at least even though looking only at results(statistics) Milano should cover this spread but as I said Baskonia is good on both ends so I give more chances for comfortable ending of Spanish team.
I could see 91:80 result in this game.
