1xBit.com is one of the first and largest Bitcoin Sportsbooks and Casinos in the cryptocurrency gambling market, a fast growing industry which is already drawing more than 10 billion US dollars in yearly transactions around the globe. 1xBit was launched in 2016, and is licensed by the government of Curacao.
Website, welcome bonus and promotions
Right off the bat you are welcomed by a pretty fast and responsive website with a reasonably nice design. It has all the tools you might be looking for, including a cashout option. It’s a soft used by many other bookmakers, so it’s not unique. It’s quite complex, which may make it a bit confusing at first, but eventually you get the hang of it and using the website should end up being a comfortable enough experience. Registration takes a second because, in the “spirit” of crypto gambling, there are no personal details required. 🙂
Promotions are quite excellent, and are in fact one of 1xBit’s major strengths.
Normally you get a 100% welcome bonus up to 7 BTC, but if you register from a Betdistrict link and use promo code “125WB” when you do, you get 125%! For your next three deposits, you get:
- 2nd deposit – 50% bonus up to 1 BTC
- 3rd deposit – 100% bonus up to 2 BTC
- 4th deposit – 50% bonus up to 3 BTC
These bonuses are HUGE, so there are quite a few requirements associated with them. First of all you need to select “Take part in bonus offers” in your Account settings. The minimum deposit to be eligible is 1 mBTC (mili-BTC, the thousand part of a bitcoin – so 40$ when BTC is 40.000$). All deposit bonuses must be redeemed by wagering the deposit amount 40 times in 30 days on sports singles and accas with odds of at least 1.60. Make sure to read the full welcome bonus T&C’s.
Other promotions by 1xBit: AdvanceBet, Bet insurance, Accumulator of the day, cashbacks, promo codes and regular new offers. You will find all these presented and explained on their website.
The bonuses and promos are really amazing, and normally would deserve an A+. However, I am a bettor who appreciates simple rollover requirements and T&C’s more than the actual amounts offered, so I’ll give them an A-.
Odds and Betting coverage + live betting
I would say that on a whole, odds are bang average, or just slightly higher. Sometimes you can find some of the best odds on the market on the bigger events, but generally the prices are around the industry average, and sometimes they are quite low on lesser events. Margins are generally in the 1.90-1.90 range, but these can also vary. I’ve seen as high as 1.93-1.93, while lower level competitions are in the 1.85-1.85 range.
Betting coverage is absolutely fantastic. There’s basically almost nothing missing. You can bet on Squash, Surfing, Sailing, or on the lowest level ITF tournaments, for example. They literally have sports and competitions I didn’t even know existed! I mean what the hell are the Marcora Cup and Daily Aqua Cup in tennis? And I know tennis! Not to mention that you can bet on the weather, politics, TV shows, and the list goes on. E-sports is very popular at 1xBit.
With that kind of betting coverage, live betting can only be great as well, since we have so many events to bet on! Pretty much everything that can be live IS live, with plenty of betting options associated on each event, and it seems almost half of them are live streamed. A+!
There are mobile apps available for IOS and Android. Both are great – maybe even simpler to use than the desktop version.
Customer support, Banking and limits
My exchanges with them via e-mail went extremely well, they were fast, helpful and eager to accommodate. But aside from e-mail, they only have Live Chat – which I didn’t find particularly useful, they seem to only respond with generic answers.
The standard currency is mBTC (mili bitcoin), which equals 0.001 BTC, but you can play around with tens of other coins, including Eth, Ltc, XRP, Stellar, DogeCoin, Cardano, Monero and others. You also have the option of betting with stable coins like USDCoin if you don’t like the volatility. You just have to add a wallet of your desired cryptocurrency in your account first (you can do that from account settings), and then send your funds to the address provided by 1xBit.
Update 25 August 2021: PolkaDot added.
You can deposit and withdraw easily no matter if you have your crypto on an exchange, ledger, software wallet, or whatever method you use to store your funds. Withdrawals are quick, usually under the hour. Everything is private and you don’t need to give away ANY personal details, one of the perks of crypto betting.
Check out our Crypto betting guide for help with deposits and withdrawals if you are not familiar with cryptocurrencies.
Some other reviews on the web complain that the minimum withdrawal amount is too high (5 mBTC, around 225$ at a bitcoin price of 40$). That’s not true! That amount is only valid if you withdraw in Bitcoin, but you can withdraw in other cryptocurrencies, for which the minimum amount can be the equivalent of a couple of bucks.
Regarding limits, the answers I got were “there are no limits” and “The maximum stake varies by sport and event”. That’s pretty confusing, but by all accounts the limits should be rather high.
1xBit Crypto Sportsbook review summary
I would say this is an operator which is average in most areas, but excels at three things: betting coverage, live betting and promotions. Betting coverage is something I particularly value, which makes me kinda bullish on 1xBit as a very good option if you want to get into crypto betting. I think it’s a great place to start, they are for sure one of the best on the market.
That being said, you want to be careful when getting into this new industry. You will have your full privacy and anonimity, but that comes at a cost, like lesser regulation. For example, we (as in everybody) don’t even know from which country 1xBit operates (clues suggest maybe Russia).
1xBit seems to be one of the safer options in the industry and they did take many steps needed to offer a secure experience, from 2FA to SSL encryption, plus there’s the fact that all transactions are registered on the blockchain. They also have a license, unlike some other crypto bookies. But all in all, starting cautious and testing the waters is probably a good way to avoid any potential problems. That’s a good strategy for any platform you put your money in. 4/5 star rating!
