Barnsley – Bradford

Barnsley Bradford betting previewBoth sides will look to make it two wins in a row when they meet today in the English League One. It will be the first meeting between these two sides in the last 8 years.

Barnsley is currently on the 17th place with 12 points in 10 matches, but they have as much as 2 games in hand compared to certain teams and they should move somewhere in the middle of the table pretty soon. The hosts are on the back of a 1-0 win at Rochdale after two consecutive defeats, but again Barnsley had to complete the job on the road – at home they have lost 3 out of 4 matches so far this season.

Similar to Barnsley, Bradford is much better when playing away from home, where they have 3 wins and 2 draws in 5 matches with a 7-2 goal difference, but the probability is this run will end at some point. The visitors are on the 7th place right now and are looking to make a playoff run this season, though they were not really expected to do so in the beginning of the campaign (but Barnsley were!). Bradford has not lost in the last 4 matches (2 wins, 2 draws).

Team news: Treacy will miss the game for Barnsley but overall both sides are healthy and ready to go ahead of this clash.

Barnsley is actually a higher rated team than Bradford, they are better quality wise but have not reached their potential so far. As far as I`m concerned this game absolutely screams “draw”, it has the classic circumstances for a tie to happen – the visitors an organized team, prone to draws and in good form, while the hosts a better overall team with home court advantage but struggling with form. Add to this the fact that both sides need points and that it will be a televised game (which increases focus) and you get the classic draw scenario. The bet is worth a try for sure in my eyes, so my tip here is the draw. As usual in an evenly matched clash the odds on this result are the highest on the 1×2 market, but I`m struggling to find a single reason for which the home win or the away win would have a higher probability than the draw.. Prediction: Barnsley – Bradford 1-1.
