Philadelphia is most likely the worst team in the NBA for a second consecutive year. They are in rebuilding mode, have a very young roster and are looking to build via the draft. 76ers are in a great spot for the future with a couple of players who have amazing upside, with this year`s draft pick Joel Embiid (injured), but right now they do not have the quality to compete at this level, and to make things worse, they also miss their main man, reigning rookie of the year, Michael Carter-Williams. Philly has lost both games so far this season against the Bucks and the Pacers, both times by 12 points. They are also back to back after losing to Milwaukee yesterday.

Miami of course lost LeBron James this summer and is not expected to contend for the championship anymore, but this Heat team is actually still very good, top 4 team in the East for sure and no doubt many people will be surprised. They mostly have the same pieces in place, no Lebron or Allen but Luol Deng was a nice addition. With Bosh and Wade on fire, Miami put on a good show to beat the strong Wizards 107-95 in their first game of the season three days ago.
Miami should own this game without problems, they are simply so much better and more experienced, also looking in good shape in the first game. Philly will most likely be killed by the lack of quality, lack of experience and also by the fact that they play back to back while Miami is rested. The 76ers don`t have the quality or the depth to perform back to back, so Miami should be able to dominate early and run away with the game late, winning somewhere between 12 and 17 points. My tip is Miami to win and cover the 9 point spread. Prediction: MIA Heat @ PHI 76ers 105 – 90.
