Dinamo – Viitorul

Dinamo Viitorul betting previewDinamo Bucharest will look to recover after a defeat to rivals Steaua Bucharest with a win over Viitorul, but the Red Dogs have never beat today`s visitors in four H2H matches.

Dinamo (6th place) is coming after two absolutely miserable results, a 0-1 cup defeat to a second league team and a 0-3 defeat against eternal rivals Steaua. However, things are not as bad as they look. The cup defeat was indeed due to a very poor performance, but against Steaua Dinamo played a really good match, surely did not deserve to lose 3-0 and arguably did not deserve to lose at all. The Red Dogs created a lot of chances, they had more shots on goal than Steaua, but conceded in the last second of the first half and then were hit by two late Steaua counterattacks. Overall Dinamo has been inconsistent this season, something natural considering their youth, but at home they have been steady – 4 wins, 2 draws and zero losses.

Viitorul without a doubt one of the ugliest teams in Romania – no fans, horrible style of football and most notably being heavily suspected of fixing matches in order to escape relegation in the last two seasons. Currently they are 11th in the standings and their form is very solid after club owner and Romanian legend Gheorghe Hagi took over as manager – Viitorul has not lost in the last 4 matches. Their statistics on the road are also worth mentioning, Viitorul losing just 1 time in 6 road games (1-4-1).

Team news & lineups:

Viitorul will field a similar lineup to the one that got a draw against Targu Mures last round, the only exceptions being Seroni (suspended – not a big handicap) and Putanu (back in the squad). Dinamo will be happy to report a clean bill of health, with regular left back Filip returning to action.

Dinamo: Marc – Fai, Nedelcearu, Cordoş, Filip – Bărboianu, Boubacar – Lazar, Matei, Rotariu – Alexe

FC Viitorul: Buzbuchi – Manea, Ţâru, Mamele, Mitrea – Nikolov, Benzar – Mitriţă, Daminuţă, Fl. Tănase – Bonilla

The H2H statistics are absolutely amazing here, Viitorul has not lost in 4 matches against a much better Dinamo side – even more, they won both matches played at “Dinamo”. However, I never rated history to have much of an impact in football as teams change, past meetings are usually irrelevant – if anything, they provide more motivation for the losing team. I strongly believe Dinamo will win this, they will be very motivated to bounce back in front of the fans after the undeserved (but humiliating) loss against Steaua and the Red Dogs are amazing at home since coach Stoican took over last year. Viitorul is in good form, but they have a poor roster, they are nowhere near Dinamo’s quality and they should be even bigger underdogs than the odds suggest, but the circumstances allow us to get a better price. My tip is Dinamo to win – it might not be glamorous (so no handicaps), but easy or hard the Red Dogs will get the three points. Prediction: Dinamo Bucharest – Viitorul 2-1.

As you already know, I`ll state the fact that I am a Dinamo Bucharest fan, so you can draw your own conclusions if you thing I am being biased – even though I`m sure nobody can question my objectivity.

  1. Dinamo has struggled so much against Viitorul in the past, and with morale so low after last week’s tough defeat, I don’t see this team winning today. I do hope you are right though 🙂
