Viitorul is the pet team of Gheorghe Hagi. Hagi has made a lot of money because he really was a great player. However, he just can not stay relaxed and let other people do their job. So he wants to be the coach of his own team. He is a terrible coach. They had a good run of results when Hagi first came but probably the players realized he is retarded and can not respect him anymore. They lost 3-0 at home to Iasi, in a game where they were 1.50 favorites. In the second game after the winter break they drew 0-0 against a team, Rapid, that played with 2 players less for the entire second half…. Viitorul are a complete mess. Hagi’s explanation? The players do not respect his directions.

CSU Craiova are a remarkable team. They have a coaching duo, a rather uncommon thing in the entire world, not to mention conservative Romania. Anyways, these 2 coaches balance each other out, in the bad cop / good cop kind of way. They also share their tactical responsibilities, one handles defense, Cartu, the other offense, Sandoi. Believe it or not Craiova has won 9 games and drew 4 since these 2 coaches came. They put a lot of accent on organization and determination. They are not very strong in attack, but they are maybe the strongest team in Romania in defense.

I see this game in a very simple way. Craiova will win because they know how to take their chances, they are better organized and have a little more quality (Viitorul’s players are pretty good too, but the coach is….arghhhh).
