Mardy Fish makes his return to professional tennis tonight against Ryan Harrison in the first round at Indian Wells.
Mardy last played in August 2013, when he had to retire against Jarkko Nieminen at Winston Salem. The american was forced to retire by heart problems and anxiety, but after almost two years here he is, trying to give it another go. It`s unclear if he really plans to play for a couple of years or just a couple of matches, but people will be glad to see him.
Ryan Harrison finally seems to have regain his best level of tennis, reaching the semifinals in his last tournament at Acapulco, defeating Grigor Dimitrov, Ivo Karlovic and taking a set from David Ferrer (though he lost the other two 6-0 6-0). Of course, Ryan can be inconsistent, but he finally found some groove and he`ll be pumped up to perform at a Masters event at home. With two weeks break since Acapulco, he should be fresh for this one.

Fish leads the Head 2 Head 3-0, winning all his matches in 2011 on hard courts in the US, but not easy. Of course, the Head 2 Head is completely irrelevant considering the circumstances of this match.
There`s just no way that a 33 year old Mardy Fish can come out of retirement after two painful years and be competitive on the tour. Even more, he plays against a young opponent in good form. This is as straightforward as it gets, Harrison – despite his inconsistency – should win with a lot of games to spare. Fish will be rusty, he might start strong with a lot of motivation but he will fade away as the match goes due to lack of tennis rhythm and due to fatigue. Even if Harrison plays a poor match, he should still cover the 4,5 game handicap which usually means 1 break per set.
My tip is Harrison -4,5 games, the odds are just brilliant. Maximum stakes, as there`s still a lot of value in this bet, even after the price dropped already. Prediction: Mardy Fish – Ryan Harrison 5-7 1-6.

Really like your pick. Good job!
thx. clearly this is a good pick, nobody can say otherwise. hopefully there won`t be any strange things happening.
That was unbelievable… Harrison should have lost this match
He was absolutely crap. I can not believe that he did not try to move Fish, the gameplan was shockingly stupid, allowing Fish to control everything without moving. Mardy did play better than expected, but I blame Harrison for allowing him to do so (and allowing him to stay fresh).
