It has been a tough second part of the season for Cordoba … they always showed fight and often had bad luck but eventually lack of quality was evident and they are now 100% relegated … 99% will finish last. After starting 2015 with 2 wins, Cordoba won only 3 points in the next 17 games and their demise came to an apotheotic conclusion last round … a 0-8 defeat to Barcelona to book relegation. Obviously morale will be at an all time low but at least Cordoba is healthy and can field the best lineup today (except for long term injured Bauzon).
Every piece seems to fall in place for Granada ahead of this clash … but even in the current circumstances it is insanity to back a side like them at 1.40 in Primera Division … a side that barely won 5 games all season in all competitions. Cordoba might be the worst team in the division, but they have a lot of fight in them and most of their losses were hard fought, coming by 1 goal in tight games. Seeing them play this season I am confident they will react in a positive manner after last weeks’ relegation and 0-8 loss, trying to prove they deserved to play Primera Division football.
Granada did not win a single game by more than 1 goal this season and I don’t see them doing it today either … they will be dancing in the streets if they win this 1-0 but I don’t exclude a surprise from the feisty Cordoba. If Granada wins, all arguments suggest a tight, 1 goal win. Previous 2 meetings this season were 1-1 in Cordoba and 1-0 for Granada at home in the Cup … so I feel very confident about this prediction. My tip will be Cordoba +1,5 hc.
