Dinamo Bucharest will take on CSU Craiova at “Dinamo Stadium” in the second round of the Romanian Liga 1.
Dinamo is prepared for yet another season of underachieving, as they are struggling again with finances. The squad is arguably weaker than last season, but it is much younger and the coach is much, much better – Mircea Rednic (ex Standard Liege, Gent). The team played a decent match in the first round, 0-0 away at Tg. Mures, last years’ vice-champions and current Supercup winners.
All in all it should be another placement somewhere between 4th and 6th for the Red Dogs this season. The main problem for Dinamo is up front – they let go of their best two strikers, top scorer Kamil Bilinski and club legend Marius Niculae. Right now they have a single option as a striker, current captain Marius Alexe, who is totally out of form, wants to leave the club and is not even a real striker – more of a winger or, at best, second striker. They finally brought in a French forward this week, but he won`t be eligible to play today.

Similar to Dinamo, Craiova finished 0-0 in the first round at home against Botosani in one of the ugliest matches of the round. It was no surprise really, as Craiova is one of the most defensive sides in the league, their coaching duo of Sandoi – Cartu being famous for their focus of keeping clean sheets and playing a slow tempo. Good chemistry and tactical consistency are the main qualities for Craiova, who finished just above Dinamo last season in the standings.
Team news: While Dinamo doesn`t have new, notable injuries or suspensions, Craiova is decimated after losing no less than 4 players in the aftermath of the match against Botosani. The main central defenders are out, as well as two attacking midfielders and long term injured midfielder Madson.
This match has under 2,5 goals written all over it. Craiova is a very defensive side, especially on the road, where they basically approach every game thinking about 0-0. Dinamo lacks chemistry and doesn`t have a competent striker, so it`s unlikely they will be able to do too much offensively. Craiova will be hit by the absences of their central defenders and that is a bad thing for the bet on the under, but looking at Dinamo, I don`t believe they can take advantage. It might be enough to allow the Red Dogs a close win over CSU, if they can keep a clean sheet, but it`s hard to see any side scoring more than 1 goal.
Last season the two teams finished tied in both games, 1-1 in Bucharest and 0-0 at Craiova. My tip is under 2,5 goals. Prediction: Dinamo Bucharest – CSU Craiova 1-0.

i like this tip. odds are quite low, but i like it. However i feel odds are based too much on past encounters and on the last round, where a lot of games finished as draws….all of them except poli x pandurii…so the bookies speculated this and left us with little value..
but as long as cartu is coach of craivoa there is always value on the unders.
I think the trend from the first round will continue much longer, especially for these two teams … and particularly for craiova, obviously.
