Tottenham – Leicester

Harry Kane Tottenham Premier League

Tottenham and Leicester City will square off for the second time in only 4 days. This time it will be Premier League action, after the two sides finished tied 2-2 on Sunday in the FA Cup, at the same venue.

All season people have been yelling that Leicester will collapse and after the recent results, many are saying that it finally happened – as Leicester has not won any of the last 4 matches in all competitions. However, in these 4 games they played Liverpool, Tottenham or Manchester City, also being unlucky not to win against in form Bournemouth, when they missed a penalty. Fatigue did seem to be a problem at some point, but Leicester will hope that the issue was resolved by resting a few key players (like Vardy or Mahrez) in the weekend FA Cup draw against Tottenham.

Tottenham also rested a few players in the recent game between the two sides, though Leicester left more impact players on the bench than the Spurs. The hosts are currently on the 4th place, 6 points behind Arsenal and 4 points behind Leicester, so this is a crucial game for Tottenham. The team finally looks like a legit Top 4 contender this year and has 3 wins and 2 draws in the last 5 matches in all competitions.

Team news & lineups:

N’Jie is the only definite absentee for Tottenham, but Pritchard, Dembele and Mason are questionable. Leicester’s biggest issue is the fitness of Vardy, but in such a big match he will probably start. James and Schlupp are out.

Tottenham: Lloris – Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose – Dier, Carroll – Lamela, Alli, Eriksen – Kane

Leicester: Schmeichel – Simpson, Morgan, Huth, Fuchs – Mahrez, Drinkwater, Kante, Albrighton – Okazaki, Vardy

There has been value on Leicester City all season and after the recent so called loss of form, I believe the value is even bigger in this match. I`m not ready to give up on Leicester just yet, this team is not a fluke and I reckon they have every chance of playing on par with Tottenham here.

Leicester should get a point, or, at the very worst, lose a tight one. They were very close to beating Tottenham at the same venue over the weekend (were dominated, but led 2-1 until very late), without Vardy and Mahrez, so there’s no reason to expect a walk in the park for the Spurs today, even if they are in fine form. My tip is Leicester +0,75 asian handicap. Prediction: Tottenham – Leicester 1-2.

  1. Personally I think Tottenham will try playing from a different angle this time, maybe with a little more creativity.. Perhaps with Chadli or another. Nevertheless I hope you’re right.

Again I was wondering (if you don’t mind of course) what you think about another match: Southampton vs Watford..

    – The Saints at home used to be a Nice suptop team before they’re terrible period last 2 months.. Still after seeing them playing lately, I think they still have a strong team.
I think they are motivated and with the home crowd behind them it looks like a good bet to me against Watford.
The quality of Watford is limited (fysical strenght)..certainly when they are not playing at home.

Like to hear your opinion on this one

    • I rate Watford very highly, they are a really solid team. Honestly, I don’t know what to say. The odds are very well set on that match.

Congrats on West Ham, great bet :).

  2. Oke Thanks for your reaction. I’m going for Southampton draw no bet..
    Good luck with yours!
