Voluntari – Steaua

FC Voluntari will play against FC Steaua Bucharest in Romania, Liga 1, round number 25.

Voluntari is a small team, fighting to avoid relegation. In the winter, they made some changes. They fired their coach (Gigi Multescu, a good one) and appointed Ionel Ganea (the worst coach in Romania). Ganea is a psychopath and will drag his team to the basement. Voluntari are based in Bucharest and have zero fans, so Steaua will not have to travel at all, it will be like a home game for them (except for the fact that Voluntari plays their home matches on Dinamo’s stadium, Steaua’s arch rivals).

Many things have improved at Steaua in the winter. The atmosphere, the game relations, they integrated the new signings (made some great signings). Some players like Bourceanu, who was the captain of the team last time he played at Steaua, had time to recover and are fully fit now. Gebhardt got used to his team mates, Marica the same. I expect a better Steaua than we’ve seen before and they will fight for the title for sure.

I expect Steaua to dominate possession, and score on one of the many mistakes Voluntari makes in defense. Another reason why I like this tip is because the owner of Voluntari insists he will not use 5 players they have on loan from Steaua, because of a “verbal agreement” with Steaua owner Becali. These players are important, three of them played in the last game, won 2-1 by Voluntari at Timisoara, and one of them (Tudorie) scored the winning goal. The other two just arrived this week and would also be normal starters. The psychopath coach, Ganea, said he does not care what the president said and that he will use those players. The president reacted that the coach will do whatever he tells him to do.
