Empoli will play host to AS Roma in the Serie A on Saturday.
Empoli is a nice team, with an offensive mentality. They lost their coach Sarri last season, along with Hysaj and Valdifiori, who also joined Sarri in Napoli. However, even with the no-name coach that replaced Sarri, Empoli played very well. Why? Because they made 1 inspired transfer, Saponaro, a very talented Italian player, 24 years old, attacking midfielder. He added the spark that was missing last season, and compensated for the missings of Valdifiori in midfield and Vecino (who also left, to Fiorentina). But now, they are facing a big problem. First of all their season is over. EL is too far away and relegation is not a concern. Their motivation levels are going down. Their performances are getting poorer week by week. And for this game vs Roma, they will miss Tonelli, CB and their best player in defense along with the aforementioned Saponara … so they will suffer big time.

Roma under Spalletti has been a whole different animal. Tough in defense, creative in midfield, precise in attack and overall with a better team spirit … The only problem is the conflict between Spalletti and 40 year old Totti. I respect Totti, but in this moment he is doing more harm than good to his beloved AS Roma. Anyway, Roma is coming after 5 wins in the league, and the league remains their main objective. They are 4th, 2 points behind Fiorentina and if they can win tonight and Fiorentina fails to beat Napoli (tough game of course), then Roma will claim 3rd spot (the last to qualify for CL football).
So all things considered, this is a huge game for Roma. For this reason and for the ones mentioned previously it will be a Roma win for me here. Usual stake of 8 units on the bet.
