The Warriors travel to Minnesota as they take on the Timberwolves Monday night / Tuesday morning (GMT time), with Golden State being an 11 point spread favorite ahead of this clash.
Minnesota (22-47, 11-22 home) is on the back of a 116 – 111 loss in Houston. It was the 18th time in the last 19 matches when they allowed 100 or more points – not a surprise, considering the fact that only 5 teams in the NBA allow more points per game than the Wolves. This is a worrying prospect against the free flowing offense of Golden State, so this matchup is not looking too good for Minnesota right now. The Wolves have a young, talented team that could really make some noise very soon, but they do lack veteran leadership at the moment and their young stars are not fully developed.

The Warriors (62-7, 30-7 away) are still on track to beat Chicago’s NBA record for wins in the regular season (72-10), despite losing their last match 179-87 in San Antonio. It was not a bad defeat though. Golden State hung around until the end against the 2nd best team in the league, on the road, despite missing Iguodala and Bogut. Also, Curry and Thompson had an awful shooting night, just 2-19 from 3 point line combined!
The two teams met once this season, on November 12 and it was a comfortable 13 point win for Golden State here in Minnesotta, 129 – 116.
I fully expect Golden State to blow out Minnesota tonight, even if Iguodala and Bogut are still unavailable (Bogut has a chance to play, though). The visitors are one of the best teams in the history of the NBA, have not lost consecutive matches this season and will surely bounce back after the San Antonio loss – especially as they meet a young, high tempo and not so good team like Minnesota. The Timberwolves will obviously not be able to beat Golden State with their own weapons.
Also, look for Curry and Thompson, or at least one of them, to have a big night after their poor performance in the last match. These guys don`t play 2 poor matches in a row. As such, my tip is Golden State to cover the 11 point handicap. The spread is currently going up, migrating towards 12 pts. Prediction: Minnesota Timberwolves – Golden State Warriors 102 – 125.
