Zverev – Dimitrov

The last match of the day at Internazionali BNL d’Italia (Rome, red clay) will feature Alexander Zverev and Grigor Dimitrov in one of the most anticipated and balanced 1st round matches.

At just 19 years old, Zverev is continuing his climb in the ATP rankings, breaking Top 50 after some really solid performances this year. The young talent is obviously on a fast rise and is viewed by many as the future of tennis. The Head 2 Head is tied at 1-1, with Dimitrov winning in 2014 and Zverev winning this year – both meetings needing a deciding set. None of them was on clay, a surface that might suit Zverev better. Both guys are all rounders, but for Dimitrov clay might be the worst surface, while for Zverev it is the best.

Zverev deserves more credit than to be an underdog against Dimitrov and it’s no surprise that the odds are moving slightly in his favor.
