The restart of the Bundesliga will see virtual champions Bayern take on the third placed Borussia Monchengladbach in what could be a very interesting clash.

It`s hard to see Bayern losing the title this season, as they are 7 points clear of the second place and have a game in hand. More importantly,the team is playing brilliant under Guardiola. After a short period of accumulating chemistry, Bayern has simply exploded and has won 14 out of the last 15 official games, the only hiccup being a meaningless 2-3 defeat to Manchester City in the last round of the Champions League group stage. Of course, Bayern has amazing firepower (42 goals in 16 matches) but also defends extremely well (8 goals in 16 matches). It`s simply very hard for opponents to put any kind of sustained pressure on Bayern.

Jantschke and Brouwers are out for Monchengladbach, but overall the team was lucky to escape the winter break without any new injuries and will field the best available first 11. Bayern Munchen will have to do without Badstuber and Van Buyted, while Schweinsteiger is highly doubtful and very likely will not play.

Bayern is scary good right now but they could hardly ask for a tougher challenge than a road game at Gladbach in Bundesliga. The hosts are at full strength so they will be able to play their game, and in my opinion there`s just too much talk about Bayern right now. No matter how good they are they won`t be able to win every game by 2 or more goals, so my input is that the +1,5 handicap on Gladbach has a lot of value considering the strength of the hosts both overall and at home. With the title virtually secured and coming after the Club World Championship and the winter break, there`s a chance Bayern could be a little off tonight, but that`s not something I`m counting on. Expect a quality game between two solid teams and Gladbach should be able to hold their own at home. Goals are expected, but the odds on overs are too short.
Previously this season Bayern won 3-1 against Borussia at Allianz Arena. My pick is Gladbach +1,5 handicap and I consider it a value bet at the odds offered by the bookies, but I also expect it to win.
