Lazio will feel confident of getting back to winning ways at Stadio Olimpico against a totally out of sorts Sassuolo team.
Lazio lost to Ludogorets at home (0-1) in the Europa League Round 32 on Thursday, putting on another disappointing performance and failing to win for the 5th time in the last 6 games in all competitions. However only the last two games against Catania (1-3) and Ludogorets have been trully bad for Lazio in this winless run. Prior to those two games they lost 1-0 at Napoli, held Roma to a 0-0 draw and Juventus to a 1-1 draw and defeated Chievo 2-0 on the road. The hosts have dropped to the 10th place in the Serie A after the recent performances and they could really use a win against Sassuolo to stand any chance of qualifying for Europe (they are currently 7 points behind Inter).
Sassuolo is in deep crisis at the moment. After a horrendous start to the season the team recovered to get some points in November, but since than it has all been downhill for them: Sassuolo lost 10 of the last 11 matches they played, including the last 5, and are on the back of a 0-2 home defeat to Napoli. The only bright spots in this bad run have been a 4-3 home win against Milan and a decent performance in a 0-1 defeat to Inter. The team obviously lacks quality for Serie A level and the odds are that they will finish bottom of the table at the end of the season.

Team news and lineups
Ederson, Postiga and Alfaro are the only injury worries for Lazio. Sassuolo is in a much worse spot, missing Alexe, Acerbi, Masucci, Manfredini, Biondini, Terranova and Ziegler.
Lazio: Marchetti – Kongo, Biava, Dias, Radu – Candreva, Biglia, Ledesma, Lulic – Mauri – Klose
Sassuolo: Pegolo – Antei, Cannavaro, Ariaudo – Rosi, Marrone, Magnanelli, Longhi – Berardi, Flores, Sansone
Lazio is not really in crisis right now as their results have been rather good prior to the Catania and Ludogorets defeats. After 2 bad games the hosts have a great chance to recover against Sassuolo and I reckon they`ll take it without hesitation. Lazio has been good at home this season with 6 wins, 3 draws and 2 losses and I feel they are a little underrated after the recent result, thus getting pretty good odds. Expect Lazio to hold the ball and impose its superior quality, creating a number of chances and taking a couple of them over the course of the 90 minutes. I don`t expect Sassuolo to score here as they are netting less than 1 goal per game on the road, while Lazio concedes less than 1 goal per game at home. The hosts are the better team, they are healthier, motivated and are playing at home against a team that can`t buy a point in the last few months. My tip is Lazio to win – 1,5 handicap. It might be a bit of a stretch since Lazio is not known for winning big, but they can do it against this Sassuolo side and the odds could hardly be better. Prediction: Lazio – Sassuolo 3-0.
