Malmo – Sparta Prague

Malmo hosts Sparta Prague in the 2nd leg of the third qualifying round in Champions League, after blowing a 2-1 half time advantage in the first match to lose 4-2 … which was a correct score for what happened on the pitch. Sparta is now favorite to qualify but will have to be careful in Sweden.

Malmo proved they are a class team when they put on a great display in the Czech Republic, playing a superb match against a very good and in form team. Malmo is the best team in Sweden and built a very good squad in the last years, this year they brought famous striker Rosenberg (ex Werder Bremen) … maybe not yet at a top level in Europe but they are a team that must be respected. Form in the league is amazing form Malmo and they will try to play their chances today despite odds for qualification being slim for them.

Sparta Prague really looks like Champions League material this year … won league en-fanfare last season and this season winning 8-1 aggregate vs. Levadia and 4-2 in first leg vs. Malmo in Champions League qualies + 3 wins in Czech Republic with 8-1 goal difference. This is a very well coached team with superb chemistry and Sparta is at the top of its game right now. Played very good in first leg to come back from 1-2 at half time. The offensive force of Sparta is impressive to say the least, they scored more than 3 goals per game in average this season … last season scored 2.6 goals per game in average in the league.

The first leg was a pleasure to watch and I think we will have another entertaining one tonight. These are two good teams who like to play attacking football, have a positive attitude and don’t like to sit back hoping for a 0-0. Malmo also has to score at least twice so they must go for it … on the other hand it’s hard to imagine Sparta Prague not scoring at least twice the way they are playing, for sure they can not defend to keep this result, they always play offensive. Over 2,5 goals looks like a bet that will bring profit here so that will be my tip. Odds for this bet are dropping. Regarding qualification … I don’t think Sparta will have serious problems to qualify, they will probably get a draw or even win it. Correct score prediction: Malmo – Sparta Prague 2-2.
