Second semifinal of Wimbledon 2017 scheduled for today where I see good value on Venus Williams to win against Johanna Konta. Maybe this will be the last chance for Venus to win a Grandslam title and she will not fail this one imo.
Venus Williams is playing absolutely amazing right now. At the age of 36, she is coming to Wimbledon semifinals dropping only a set. She won in straight sets against Mertens, Osaka, Konjuh and Ostapenko and she lost only a set in the 2nd round against Wang. Her last match against Ostapenko, the winner of Roland Garros, was impressive as she was able to win in two sets 6-3/7-5 dominating most of the match. She knows that this is a big chance for her...most of the big players are out and even her sister is not playing. She will be fully motivated and she will not lose this chance imo.
Johanna Konta, on the other hand, is playing very high level of tennis too. She won against Hsieh, Vekic, Sakkari, Garcia and Halep but she dropped a set in 3 of these matches (against Garcia, Halep and Vekic). She is coming to this match after two hard battles (2:14 hours against Garcia and 2:41 hours against Halep) and I don't see her ready for another tough battle against Venus today. Venus will be fresh as she has played less than 1:30 hours in the last 3 matches and she has big experience for these kind of matches. This will be first very important match for Konta and I don't think that she will win. Even in case of a 3 sets match, I see Venus Williams clear favourite to win this one.
