Very interesting match in Bastad between Verdasco and Bagnis where I think that Verdasco will win easily in straight sets.
Verdasco played his opening match of the tournament against Ymer (crowd favourite) yesterday and he won in 3 sets coming back after losing the first set. I'm not afraid about that as that was the first match on clay for Verdasco after the grass season. He lost only in the final last year here in Bastad against a perfect Ramos Vinolas.
On the other hand, Bagnis won his first match of the tournament in 3 sets too against Tommy Haas. Before this tournament, he played a Challenger here in Bastad losing in the semifinal against Lajovic (the only "decent" opponent that he faced. He is a clay court specialist but he plays mostly challengers and minor tournaments. Last year, he faced again Verdasco here in Bastad (the only meeting between these two) and Verdasco won in straight sets 6-1/6-2.
There's big difference between these two players and Verdasco will feel much more comfottable today than yesterday. I don't know if Verdasco will win just like last year conceding only 3 games but I just think that he will not concede a set. Odds are just amazing and full of value imo.
