Newport lost 2-0 at Barnet at the weekend and with no more motivation for the season might suffer a fourth defeat in six games here. They have not offered much in recent games with their only win coming against badly out of form Swindon and they even lost at home to Crewe and Stevenage to show how badly they have fallen from December when they were only two pints behind Accrington.
Accrington need just a point to celebrate the league title and with promotion already assured, one feared they might slck ff, but reverse was the case as they romped to a 4-0 win away at third placed Wycombe. The quality of the opponent made it clear they have no plan of slacking off now and I expect them to keep up the good form here. With five wins and a draw in their last six games, they are in magnificent form and they come here with no injured players.
Accrington games have been built on a solid defense as they have kept clean sheets in each of their last five wins and I quite frankly expect them to keep another here, They have not fared quite as well against Newport in h2h meetings but I think they will set the record right and get only their second win against this opponent in ten meetings by also doing it without conceding.
