I'm in big hurry to take these odds, because we will see a quite big drop for Steaua's win. I expect at most 1.75-1.80 in matchday.
Most bookies didn't opened the odds yet, and that's because Steaua will play against Dinamo Tbilisi tonight in UCL qualifiers. Most likely, Steaua will win that game, so the bookies will open the odds at a smaller value than we have right now. Also, with a win tonight, I expect odds will drop even more at the bookies we already have odds.
Now, about the game: Steaua confirmed their value, by winning the supercup game against Petrolul, 3-0. And Petrolul looks a lot better than Dinamo, in this beginning of the season. Also, Steaua won every CL qualifying game, so far. They won 2-0 at Tbilisi, a strong team with a few brilliant players like Xisco, Ustariz or gk Loria.
There will be no problems related to fitness, because Steaua's program is not as charged as some would like to think: Last game was played at Tbilisi one week ago, because the last championship game against Rapid was cancelled(Rapid was relegated by TAS decision). So, until the big derby, there are four free days.
There will be no rotation in the team, Steaua will play the game against Dinamo with full squad, except the long-term missings: Gabi Matei and Chipciu.
Even more, there is likely that Steaua will not use defender Szukala and midfielder Pintilii tonight(they will be suspended for playoff, if they get booked tonight). Also, striker Nikolic is having some small injury, but he will also be left outside tonight, so that he will be 100% for Saturday's game.
In these conditions, Steaua will most likely start in this formula against Dinamo Bucuresti: Tatarusanu - Georgievski, Szukala, Chiriches, Latovlevici - Bourceanu, Pintilii - Ad.Popa, Iancu, Tanase - Piovaccari.
The best possible team, right now.
Dinamo doesn't look steady at all: wrong step in the first round, at Timisoara, then wonderful win against Vaslui.
In the last round, I picked them among the winners, but I was aware that they will do something wrong, and I was right: Dinamo only managed a draw against a weak team of Viitorul Constanta, so my money returned.
It's obvious they miss the clear head from the middle, their last season's brain, Catalin Munteanu, who is still injured. Along him, defender Srdjan Luchin is another important missing in Dinamo's team.
Despite the new board and the new transfers, I don't see any steadiness at Dinamo. I tend to believe things are even worse than last season. I want to be wrong, but I'm afraid to be right.In these conditions, I don't see how Dinamo will improve so much that they can grab something against Steaua.
The game will be played at National Arena, so nobody can say it's home ground for Dinamo: Steaua played most of the last year's game there, they play every game in EL/CL there. The stadium will clearly be full, but not with Dinamo's fans: the percentage will be at least 50-50, if not with something in Steaua's favor.
The difference between the two teams is relevant also if we look at h2h: Steaua won the last five meetings. In the last season, Dinamo was simply unable to do something against them.
Nevertheless, Steaua to win the big derby, 2.25 the biggest odd right now, bet of the week for me.
