Newcastle – Fulham

Newcastle Fulham betting previewNewcastle was very poor in the first two rounds, and this is not surprising given the fact that there is uncertainty over the squad (some players could leave, some new signings are expected) and that the best player, Cabaye, doesn`t want to be here anymore and is refusing to play. The hosts have yet to score a goal in the Premier league and only gained 1 point so far, a 0-0 draw against West Ham in a game with no goalscoring chances. Previously they were destroyed by Manchester City, 4-0. They barely won against Morecambe in the League Cup mid-week. Newcastle lacks form, creativity, one could even say motivation in this beginning of the season. They are so bad up front that they only got ONE shot on target so far in the first two games.

Fulham started the Premiership with a solid win at Sunderland after a great performance, but lost 3-1 at home to Arsenal in the second round. Nevertheless, Arsenal played a really good game, Fulham should not be too upset about the way they played. They made some great signings in the summer and have amazing quality up front with Bryan Ruiz, Berbatov, Taraabt and new boy Darren Bent.

The hosts have big squad problems. Cabaye should feature, but Gutierrez, Tiote, Ryan Taylor, Steven Taylor and possibly Remy are all out. Fulham will miss Amorebieta and Richardson, while Stekelenburg is doubtful.

Newcastle is in a really bad patch of form and Fulham is a solid mid-table team that can take advantage. There is no difference between the two clubs quality wise, so the big gap in form should be more important than the home court advantage of Newcastle. Also, do not forget the squad problems that the Magpies have. The hosts are so bad in offense that even scoring one goal will be a monumental task for them, while Fulham seems to be able to score at anytime with their great front line. All in all, the visitors are set to get at least a draw today.

Newcastle – Fulham 1-2 would be my call for this one.
