AC Milan – Udinese

AC Milan will try to get back to winning ways when they host another struggling side in the form of Udinese.

Milan started off pretty good under Filippo Inzaghi this season but the lack of quality in the squad and the lack of experience on the bench are starting to show – no wins for Milan in the last 5 games and a rather disappointing performance last weekend against Inter, an ugly 1-1 draw. Milan has already dropped to the 7th place in the standings and a win today is mandatory, especially since the Rossoneri are tied in points with Udinese.

Udine is in a similar slump to AC Milan, having gained just 2 points in the last 4 matches, including a 1-1 home draw last round with Chievo, a match that I really expected them to win – but not only did they fail miserably in their attempt, they did not even deserve to get the three points. A trip to San Siro will be challenging for a Udinese side that usually does not perform well on the road.

A couple of injury worries and fitness problems for both sides, but nothing to talk about. Team news are rather kind with Milan and Udine, we will see strong lineups today. De Jong might be the biggest absentee, but he could play.

Both sides have been disappointing recently but you have to feel Udinese is the more stable of the two, given the fact that they are tied in points with Milan despite having way less material to work with. However, I don`t think Udine can take points at San Siro in this kind of form and I expect Milan to barely edge a close, sluggish game. My tip is Milan to win by 1 goal, so the bet is a draw on the -1 European Handicap market. I have a feeling Torres might bang one in after going scoreless for 8 matches, but I`m just saying this as a sidenote. Prediction: AC Milan – Udinese 2-1.
