Agnieszka Radwanska takes on the in-form Simona Halep in the second semifinal of the Singapore World Tour finals.
Radwanska played pretty good tennis this week in Singapore but the fact is she has a single win (6-2 6-3 vs Kvitova) and two losses (5-7 3-6 vs Wozniaki, 5-7 7-6 2-6 vs Sharapova), so it`s safe to say the Pole is the least dangerous players who reached the semifinal. She`s playing her usual game, great angles, slow pace, but she is making some errors here and there and it remains to be seen if she has the proper weapons and form to counter Simona Halep, who is red hot and has mastered a defensive brand of tennis from the baseline.
The Romanian has been simply flawless so far, demolishing Bouchard and Serena Williams (6-0 6-2!) before succumbing to a three set loss vs Ivanovic in a game she did not need to win. I reckon Halep has played the best tennis of her career this week, her first serve (a big weakness) has improved, she`s making virtually no error and can turn defense into attack at any time.

The H2H is 4-2 for Radwanska (3-1 on hard), however since Halep emerged as a top contender the H2H is 2-2 (1-1 this year). Radwanska won the last meeting in straight sets in Indian Wells. The matchup is pretty balanced here, but I reckon that Radwanska will have problems finishing off points when Halep is in form and is on top of here retrieving game, moving well.
I`m not Halep`s biggest fan but I can see the Romanian winning this, I would not be shocked at all by a very straightforward victory (though I do expect some resistance from the Pole). Halep does not make too many errors and she has the qualities to defend in excellent fashion, denying Radwanska too many winners. I can see Halep pushing her opponent into forced errors on the back of a steady baseline play. Simply put, the Romanian is playing better tennis this week and in this kind of form I can`t see her conceding any sets to a Radwanska that is not at her absolute best level. halep is a very good player,but she proved in the match against ivanovic that she has noo brain.you said your self that is a silly thing to do to play tree sets. she lost the first one whi in the hell to be that stupid to win the second set and lose the match then. she qualifed serena and s[ent more time on the court.i think that serena will crush her now in the finale,simply because that is happening when you are an idiot. i don t understand women
Lukas, your comment cracked me up :)) I do agree with the part that it was silly to play 3 sets. Honor is one thing, unnecesary work is another. You don`t have to ruin your body when you don`t need it, you can just play more economic, it`s not unethical. I don`t agree that she should have tried to specifically knock Serena out, that would be unprofessional, close to a fixed match. And on top of everything, there were a lot of money involved as well, that was a factor.
