Murray – Raonic

Murray Raonic betting previewAndy Murray and Milos Raonic square off in a deciding match, as whoever loses this will be out of the race to qualify to the semis of the ATP World Tour finals in London. Both guys lost their first match.

Murray did not play too bad in his 4-6 4-6 defeat to Nishikori, but he was inconsistent and in the end clearly deserved to lose, failing to show his best level of tennis on a more consistent basis than 1-2 games, or a couple of points. Andy struggled to get back to form this year, managed to improve in the Asian swing and had a really good run, but he sacrificed a ton of energy to reach London. Andy basically played week in week out in ATP 250 tournaments, reaching the final stages and playing some grueling matches. Fatigue eventually caught up with him in the Paris quarterfinals two weeks ago, losing heavily to Djokovic. He had a week and a half of rest, but it might not be enough – he did not look at 100% against Nishikori.

Bet on Andy Murray vs. Milos Raonic with the best tennis odds at Bet 365.

After reaching the Paris final, Raonic had great confidence playing for the first time at the ATP World Tour finals, but he was quickly put in a corner by Federer, who defeated the Canadian 6-1 7-6. Raonic was slow in the first set but played better in the second and had big opportunities to take the match in a decider and this was against a very solid Federer. Maybe with a match under his belt, he will feel less pressure today, even though he absolutely has to win.

Raonic leads the H2H 3-1 (2-1 on hard), including winning the only match this year in 3 sets at the Indian Wells Masters. Obviously, Andy is struggling a bit with Raonic’s big serving style of play.

I like Raonic to win this especially at these odds, I feel it is a 50 – 50 match and in my personal opinion Milos actually has the edge. I`m thinking Murray is too tired to perform this week, he simply played too much tennis in the last couple of months and didn’t look great against Nishikori. The H2H is also very interesting, Murray had problems vs. Raonic when the difference between the two was much, much bigger, so today he should struggle to read Milos’ serve. Raonic proved he can beat the top guys if circumstances are in his favor, so I expect him to do it again today. I can’t say he was brilliant in the first match, he wasn’t, but he is in good form after the Paris final and now also has the experience of playing in London, which he did not have against Federer. He`s playing good enough to take advantage of the opportunities Murray will surely give him. My tip is Raonic to win. Prediction: Andy Murray – Milos Raonic 6-7 6-3 5-7.
