Arsenal – Liverpool

Arsenal Liverpool betting previewLiverpool will fancy their odds of advancing in the FA Cup next round, entering this match full of confidence after recently drubbing Arsenal 5-1 at Anfield. The Gunners on the other hand seem to have lost their form and also need to focus on the Champions League match against Bayern Munchen on Wednesday.

Arsenal is on the brink of losing everything they worked for in 2013. They lost the first place in the league and now have two key matches against Liverpool and Bayern Munchen in the FA Cup and Champions League. The gunners have played poorly lately, barely getting a hard worked 2-0 win against Crystal Palace in the last 4 games. In the last two rounds Arsenal lost 5-1 to Liverpool (4-0 in the 20th minute!) and 4 days ago recorded a 0-0 home draw against Manchester United in a weak match, showcasing two teams in poor form and with no solutions.

Liverpool is playing the best football in Premier League right now. The visitors are in devastating form, recording 7 wins and 2 draws in the last 9 matches in all competition and scoring seemingly at will. ‘Pool found the net 8 times in the last two games which are sure to give them amazing morale for today: they beat Arsenal 5-1 and then got a last minute winner against Fulham 4 days ago due to a Gerrard penalty kick.

Team news and lineups.

Arsenal will miss Vermaelen, Walcott, Ramsey, Kallstrom, Diaby and possibly Cazorla. The big problem for Wenger however is that he has no choice but to rotate the squad here, with the Bayern Munchen Champions League clash in just 3 days. Liverpool has no such worries and will field the best available first 11, excepting Coates, Enrique, Lucas, Johnson and Sakho, all injured.

Arsenal: Fabianski – Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs – Arteta, Flamini – Oxlade-Chamberlain, Wilshere, Rosicky – Podolski.

Liverpool: Jones – Flanagan, Skrtel, Agger, Cissokho – Henderson, Gerrard, Coutinho – Suárez, Sturridge, Sterling.

Arsenal has played horrible football in the last two games and meeting a side that just beat them 5-1 surely can`t give them too much confidence. Liverpool is the better team right now but the most important advantage they have is the fact that Arsenal needs to rest a couple of starters. I saw a better Arsenal team, in much better form, being routed at home by Chelsea in the League Cup, and I expect a similar outcome this time around. I can`t see Arsenal, who is already struggling offensively, creating to much danger without the likes of Walcott, Ramsey, Ozil or Giroud, while ‘Pool is scoring like crazy and will surely create a couple of solid chances. The gunners do have the strength to regain their form and they shouldn`t be underestimated (they did it in December after a similar bad run), but it does not seem likely they can do it today, considering the circumstances. My tip is Liverpool -0,25 asian handicap at very good odds, just a little bit lower than the simple win. Liverpool to qualify should be the safer bet, but I`m going with the better value here. Prediction: Arsenal – Liverpool 1-2.
