Roma – Torino

Roma Torino betting previewRoma continues the race to keep the second place when they meet overachievers but out of form Torino at Stadio Olimpico in the 30th round of the serie A.

The home side is riding a two game winning streak, defeating Udinese 3-2 and Chievo 2-0 in the last two Serie A outings, both wins coming rather easily. The return of Totti might have had something to do with Roma`s resurgence, as the Giallorossi were having a rough patch of form in early March without their captain – as it was always the case when Totti was missing this season. Roma is playing pretty good football right now – the defense is of course still the best in the Serie A, and the 5 goals scored in the last 2 games are showing a great improvement in the offensive department. Roma is currently 6 points ahead of 3rd placed Napoli and has a game in hand. The title, of course, is gone, as Juventus is just too strong and too far ahead.

Torino was so good in the start of the season, giving a hard time to any opponent and even challenging for a top 4 spot. However, the team faded away lately and had to endure a horrible run of 4 consecutive defeats without scoring a single goal (!!!) until finally winning a game last round against Livorno (3-1). But Torino needs much more than a win against a lowly Livorno side to regain their form, and coming at Olimpico today will surely not make the visitors feel too confident. There`s also the chance that the visitors reached their pick and simply can`t do more, as their play of late has been so bad, it`s hard to see them challenging any top side until the end of the season

Team news & lineups

Roma will have to do again without Balzaretti, Maicon and Strootman, while Benatia is also unavailable for this game. Torino will be missing Larrondo, Pasquale, Masiello and Gillet, while Basha is questionable and will be a game time decision.

Roma: De Sanctis – Torosidis, Romagnoli, Castan, Dodo – Pjanic, Rossi, Nainggolan – Florenzi, Totti, Gervinho

Torino: Padelli – Bovo, Glik, Moretti – Maksimovic, Kurtic, Vives, Kaddouri, Darmian – Cerci, Immobile

Roma is playing with confidence right now and meets an opponent in wretched form at Olimpico, so I expect a rather easy win for the Giallorossi, also considering the obvious quality difference. Roma received just 4 goals at home all season and 2 of them were in the last home game against Udinese, so I reckon they`ll be more careful at the back, which should work well against a side that scored in only one of the last 5 games. At the offensive end meanwhile, Roma has shown great potential in the last few games, so they should be able to create a fair number of chances to win us this bet. Torino surely must wait a little bit more to regain their form. My tip is Roma -1,25 asian handicap. Prediction: AS Roma – Torino 2-0.
